Olimpia is a health economist with a PhD in Global Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and an MSc in Global Health and Epidemiology from the University of Oxford. Her research interests centre on economic evaluation of screening strategies for female genital schistosomiasis and their integration within sexual and reproductive health programmes in sub-Saharan Africa. Her research approach draws on health economic methods, implementation science and quantitative research to understand the complex intersections of disease control, gender and health systems in low-resource settings. She has conducted extensive fieldwork across sub-Saharan Africa, including Zambia, Malawi, Rwanda, Zimbabwe and South Africa.

Previously, Olimpia was a Research Fellow at LSHTM where she worked on an NIHR-funded project designing and implementing health benefit packages in Kenya and Rwanda, working across government, health systems and communities to establish evidence-based priority-setting in resource-constrained settings. She was also part of an EU Horizon project evaluating the economic burden of extreme heat exposure in pregnant and postnatal women, conducting multi-country analysis and synthesis to quantify climate-related maternal health risks.
