ABOUT

I am a mathematician working in mathematical analysis, with research interests at the interface of PDE analysis, spectral theory, microlocal and asymptotic analysis, and scattering theory. Currently, I am involved with Dr Bryn Davies on the Leverhulme Trust Research Leadership Award project “Unlocking a New Generation of Imperfection-Resilient Metamaterials”.

 

During my PhD years, at the University of Bologna, I carried out research in the spectral analysis of systems of PDE arising in mathematical physics, with particular focus on non-commutative harmonic oscillators and quantum-optics models. This included results on Weyl asymptotics, spectral quasi-clustering, and the meromorphic continuation of spectral zeta functions for classes of global elliptic systems.

 

Then in my postdoctoral position at University College London, I worked with Jeffrey Galkowski on scattering theory for Dirichlet-to-Neumann operators and Steklov-type spectral problems on singular domains. This investigation focused on limiting absorption principles, scattering matrices, and spectral asymptotics for geometric operators on domains with corners or piecewise smooth Lipschitz boundaries.

 

Now, I aim to build on this background to develop rigorous operator-theoretic and asymptotic methods to understand wave propagation in complex multi-scale media, with emphasis on how geometry, spectral properties, defects, and irregularities influence scattering and localisation phenomena. More broadly, my work connects geometric and analytical techniques with questions motivated by mathematical physics, including spectral asymptotics, quantum-optics models, Dirichlet-to-Neumann operators, and Steklov-type problems. Indeed, my research focuses on contributing to the mathematical foundations for the design of metamaterials whose wave-control properties remain robust under imperfections.
