Dr Rebecca Johnson is an Associate Professor at Warwick Medical School with expertise in health services research, mental wellbeing, and mixed methods methodology. Her research work focuses on mental health and wellbeing in public services, understanding the role of partnership in delivering health services and enhancing health interventions. Rebecca is Warwick Medical School Deputy Director of Postgraduate Taught Studies - Clinical Workforce Development. She leads the super-module ‘Introduction to leadership and management in healthcare contexts’ and the Public Health Module 'Social Determinants of Health'. She earned her PhD in Health Sciences and Master of Public Health from the University of Warwick, following a BA in Sociology from the University of Minnesota.

Rebecca's strategic roles include WMS Deputy Director of Postgraduate Taught Academic Programmes- Clinical Workforce Development; EUTOPIA Lead for Leading Strategic Innovation in Healthcare; WIHEA Fellow (25-27) and WMS People Committee member. Externally, she is an Advisor Panel Member for the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission which supports international research capacity development; and member of National Centre for Research Methods (NCRM)  Pedagogy Network.

I am a writer and professor of history at the University of Warwick.

Mostly I write about the cultural history food. I’ve also written about Spanish American history, clothing, letter writing, the circulation of art and other things.

I’ve authored five books and over forty articles and book chapters. My work has been translated into Spanish and German, and has won prizes including the Conference on Latin American History’s Bolton-Johnson Prize, and the William & Mary Quarterly’s Douglas Adair Award. I am a fellow of the British Academy, the Royal Society of Arts, and the Royal Historical Society.
